We offer:
A traineeship of 6 months within the European Integration, Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Albania, starting in October 2021.
You will be part of a motivated and diverse team of 11 staff members in the European Integration, Political, Press and Information Section and the wider team of around 70 staff members of the EU Delegation. The trainee will receive a monthly grant of EUR 500. The starting date is subject to possible changes in view of the evolving epidemiological situation and related travel restrictions.
The EU Delegation facilitates the development of political and economic relations between the European Union and Albania, including in the framework of Albania’s EU accession process. It represents EU interests and promotes EU values in Albania. The Delegation monitors and reports on policies and developments in Albania and manages EU financial assistance programmes. It communicates to the Albanian public and Albanian decision-makers about the European Union and the EU integration process.
Main tasks:
- Support the European Integration, Political, Press and Information Section in monitoring political and security developments in Albania.
- Contribute to the drafting of reports and analyses on political and security developments in Albania and Albania’s EU accession process.
- Contribute to the preparation of public events, visits and outreach activities of the EU Delegation.

Qualifications or special requirements:
- Recent graduate with a completed Bachelor’s degree or higher from a university or equivalent higher-education institution.
- Citizenship of the European Union or Albania.
- Very good English writing and oral skills.
- University degree in a field related to the post, such as political science, international relations, European studies, law, communications, and economics.
- Knowledge of political and security developments in Albania and/or the region.
- Knowledge of EU foreign policy, the EU accession process and EU relations with Albania.
- Albanian language skills are an asset.

Important information to read before applying
Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)
Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
EU candidates currently residing in Albania must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation.
The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.
The Delegation informs that even if our Headquarters confirm the eligibility of the selected candidate, traineeships could be postponed, suspended or even cancelled considering the very evolving context of the COVID-19 outbreak in the host country.
