The final phase of the selection process is the recruitment. EPSO is not responsible for the recruitment because they only select potential applicants. It is the role of the Directorate General to choose a candidate in the reserve list for final interview. After 2-3 candidates are invited for an interview, recruitment then happens. In the classic interview, candidate is asked about the knowledge in the specific field, motivation, and personal profile. After the interview, medical examination is required. If the candidate passed the medical exam, then he or she gets the job. The candidate becomes an EU official but he has to undergo first a 9-month probation period.
