Dear candidates,

Thank you for your interest in an internship with the EU Delegation to the Holy See, the Order of Malta, the UN Organisations in Rome and the Republic of San Marino.

The internship planned for the first half of 2021 will start in May, always subject to further developments related to COVID-19.

Trainees for this session have been already choosen and as written in the Call for Application published in January 2021 only shortlisted candidates have been contacted.

Next Traineeship session will probably be in the second half of the year.

PAID TRAINEESHIP FOR YOUNG GRADUATES AT THE EU DELEGATION IN ROME 

Are you a young graduate and interested in international relations?  

Are you curious to learn more about work in a diplomatic mission and how an EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in the UN Organisations in Rome?

What do we offer?

2 Internships in International Relations

A traineeship from 1 to 6 months, depending on the Delegation needs, within the UN Section of the EU Delegation to the Holy See, the Order of Malta, the UN Organisations in Rome and the Republic of San Marino, subject to availability of budget and to COVID-19 development.

Main tasks

  • Trainee will support the activities of the Delegation to be determined with their supervisor.
  • Trainee will attend meetings and conferences, in particular at the 3 UN Agencies in Rome (FAO, IFAD and WFP), including coordination meetings with EU Member States.
  • Trainee will be asked to prepare for the meetings and draft reports.
  • Trainee will be asked to conduct thematic / geographic research and can be called to provide ad hoc support for all activities of the Delegation.
  • Trainee can be called to provide support on press and communication matters.

Applying for an internship

Before applying you are requested to examine the general eligibility criteria *

for traineeships (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship for young graduates).

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. However costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation and visa must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, ONLY SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful shortlisted candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
