EPSO is looking to recruit 80 successful candidates in the Audit field by launching the competitition EPSO/AD/302/15. The place of recruitment will be Luxembourg with the European Court of Auditors acting as the main recruiter among other EU Institutions.
Like in the previous launched epso competition, the selection will have 3 phases:
The newly introduced preselection rules for this competition are the following:
– Verbal and Numerical Reasoning DO NOT COUNT for your preselection mark, but you would still need to get a pass mark for these tests
– There will only be 10 Verbal Reasoning questions from now on.
– There will be 20 Abstract Reasoning questions from now on
– The score for the preselection will be made of scores from Abstract Reasoning and Situational Judgement Tests
– There will be up to 10 but not more than 11 times more candidates than needed on the reserve list invited to the Intermediate test. In this case, the maximum of candidates that could be invited to the Intermediate test is 880.
The main tasks of administrators in the field of audit are:
— | external audit, financial audit, compliance audit, and auditing of sound financial management, including planning, implementation and reporting; |
— | documentary and on-the-spot checks and controls, analysis, assessment and improvement of audit systems and project and programme management; |
— | internal audit, methodological support, advice and training; |
— | inter-service coordination and consultation on audit issues; |
— | drafting of opinions, advice or recommendations in fields related to their institution’s mission. |

The newly announced EPSO Competitition – EPSO/AD/301/15 – for AD5 which looks to draw up a reserve list of 149 successful candidates brings changes to the selection procedure.

By looking at the Official Journal for the competition you will notice the following EPSO preselection exam changes:
– Verbal and Numerical Reasoning DO NOT COUNT for your preselection mark, but you would still need to get a pass mark for these tests
– There will only be 10 Verbal Reasoning questions from now on.
– There will be 20 Abstract Reasoning questions from now on
– The score for the preselection will be made of scores from Abstract Reasoning and Situational Judgement Tests
– There will be up to 10 but not more than 11 times more candidates than needed on the reserve list invited to the Intermediate test. In this case, the maximum of candidates that could be invited to the Intermediate test is 1639.
The Intermediate Test consists of an e-tray test which will verify 4 general competencies usually sought by the European Institutions – Analysis and Problem Solving, Delivering Quality and Results, Prioritising and Organising and Working with Others. There will be 15 to 20 questions on this test. Each competency will be marked out of 10.
The main tasks of a successful candidate would include:
1. Policy formulation and development
— | Conduct analysis and formulation of policies in the fields of EU action; |
— | Follow and contribute proactively to policy implementation in specific sectorial policies, drafting policy analysis notes and briefings; |
— | Assist decision-makers by means of written or oral contributions. |
2. Operational delivery
— | Devise, implement, monitor and conduct checks of programmes and action plans; |
— | Manage the relations with the Member States and external interest groups; |
— | Follow inter-service and interinstitutional coordination and consultation regarding European policies; |
— | Coordinate working groups set up by the Member States, the institutions and other external stakeholders; |
— | Draft contracts, prepare calls for proposals and invitations to tender, and participate in the monitoring of proposals and projects; |
— | Contribute to external communication as well as to internal reporting and communication. |
3. Resource management
— | Manage resources including staff, finances, and equipment; |
— | Monitor administrative, financial and budget procedures; |
— | Participate in preparing budget estimates and drawing up annual reports and accounts; |
— | Manage operational, strategic, social and budgetary risks. |

The upcoming EPSO competitions 2015 list for the 1st Semester has been updated by EPSO. These are the different fields of interest that the European Institutions will look to recruit in the first part of 2015:
EPSO/AST-SC/03/15 – A competition for the following fields: Administrative Support, Secretarial Support and Financial Support, in the levels SC1/SC2. The registration for the exam starts 08.01.2015 and the preselection exams will take place in 03 -04.2015.
EPSO/CAST/S/11/2015 – The selection of Principal Building Managers (M/F) will kicks off with the registration on 22.01.2015. Further details to be announced
EPSO/CAST/S/12/2015 – Starting from 23.02.2015 the registration for security specialists will begin in both Function Group III and IV
EPSO/AD/295-300/15 – Applicants with knowledge of national law (AD5 and AD7) can apply for lawyer positions starting from 26.02.2015, for different languages (BG, DE, GA, HR, LT, SK)
EPSO/AST/135/15 – For the position of Heads of Administration in EU Delegations based in third countries the launch date is 09.04.2015
EPSO/AST-SC/04/15 – Aiming to select Parliamentary Ushers, the competition starts from 23.04.2015
EPSO/AD/303/15 – Specialists with background in aid management to non-member states (AD7) can apply starting 07.05.2015
AD CYCLE – Positions for Audit and Administrators (profiles not yet defined) at AD 5 level are available and registration starts in March. For Administrators you can register from 12.03 and for Audit 26.03.2015

Computer-based admission tests are organised by EPSO. The selection board decides on the difficulty of the tests set and approves their content based on proposals made by EPSO.
